ന്യൂഡല്‍ഹി: പണം വിനിമയം അടിക്കടി കൂടിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കേ എടിഎം സെന്‍ററുകള്‍ തുരുതുരേ പൂട്ടി ബാങ്കുകള്‍. ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ പേയ്മെന്‍റിലേക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ പേര്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞതോടെയാണ് എടിഎമ്മുകള്‍ക്ക് ശനിദശ തുടങ്ങിയതെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ട്. ആര്‍ബിഐ പുറത്തു വിടുന്ന വിവരങ്ങള്‍ പ്രകാരം ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് എടിഎം സെന്‍ററുകളാണ് രാജ്യത്ത് പൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. 2023 സെപ്റ്റംബറില്‍ 2,19,000 എടിഎം സെന്‍ററുകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്‍ 2024 സെപ്റ്റംബറില്‍ 2,15,000 ആയി കുറഞ്ഞുവെന്നാണ് കണക്കുകള്‍ സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്.

ഓഫ് സൈറ്റ് എടിഎമ്മുകളാണ് പൂട്ടിയതില്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും. ഇന്ത്യന്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക മേഖലയില്‍ കറന്‍സി ഇപ്പോഴും നിര്‍ണായക പങ്കു വഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. അതു കൊണ്ടു തന്നെ പൂര്‍ണമായും ഡിജിറ്റല്‍വത്കരണത്തിലേക്ക് തിരിയുന്നതിനു പകരം ഡിജിറ്റല്‍, ഫിസിക്കല്‍ പേയ്മെന്‍റുകള്‍ സന്തുലിതാവസ്ഥയില്‍ കൊണ്ടു പോകാനാണ് ബാങ്കുകള്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്. നിലവില്‍ ഒരു ലക്ഷം പേര്‍ക്ക് 15 എടിഎമ്മുകള്‍ എന്ന കണക്കിലാണ് എടിഎമ്മുകള്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നത്.

എടിഎം വഴിയുള്ള പണമിടപാടുകളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ആര്‍ബിഐ നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങളും ഉപഭോക്താക്കളെ എടിഎമ്മില്‍ നിന്നകറ്റുന്നു. സൗജന്യ എടിഎം ഇടപാടുകളില്‍ പരിധി നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും മറ്റു ബാങ്കുകളുടെ കാര്‍ഡുകള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോഴുള്ള ഫീസുമെല്ലാം ഇതില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നു. ബാങ്കിന്‍റെ ഒരു ശാഖയ്ക്ക് രണ്ട് എടിഎമ്മുകള്‍ എന്ന നിലയില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലതെന്ന് വിദഗ്ധര്‍ പറയുന്നു.
