ആദ്യ പടിയായി മോട്ടോര്‍ബൈക്കുകളുടെ പെര്‍മിറ്റ് നിരക്ക് വര്‍ധിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ പത്ത് വര്‍ഷത്തേക്കുള്ള മോട്ടോര്‍ ബൈക്ക് പെര്‍മിറ്റ് കിട്ടണമെങ്കില്‍ 12,801 സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍ ഡോളര്‍ കൊടുക്കണം. പുതിയൊരു മോട്ടോര്‍ ബൈക്കിന്റെ വിലയെക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതലാണ് 10 വര്‍ഷത്തെ പെര്‍മിറ്റ് കിട്ടാനുള്ള ചെലവ്. സെപ്റ്റംബറിലെ കണക്ക് അനുസരിച്ച് ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിനാല്‍പ്പത്തിരണ്ടായിരം ബൈക്കുകളാണ് സിംഗപ്പൂരിലുള്ളത്. ആറുലക്ഷത്തിയമ്പതിനായിരം കാറുകളും.

പുതുക്കിയ പെര്‍മിറ്റ് നിരക്കുകള്‍ പ്രകാരം പുതിയ ബൈക്ക് വാങ്ങി നിരത്തിലിറക്കാന്‍ ഒരാള്‍ക്ക് ഏകദ്ദേശം 20,000 സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍ ഡോളറെങ്കിലും ചെലവ് വരും. നിലവിലുള്ള പെര്‍മിറ്റ് പുതുക്കാനും 11,000 സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍ ഡോളറോളം മുടക്കേണ്ടി വരും.

ബൈക്ക് വാടകയ്ക്ക് കിട്ടാനും അധിക തുക നല്‍കണം. പെര്‍മിറ്റ് തുക കൂട്ടിയതോടെ മോട്ടോര്‍ ബൈക്ക് വാടകയ്ക്ക് നല്‍കുന്ന കമ്പനികള്‍ വാടക വീണ്ടും കൂട്ടാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുകയാണ്. കാറുകളുടെ പെര്‍മിറ്റ് നിരക്കും സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഉടന്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തും. പുതിയ കാര്‍ വാങ്ങി റോഡിലിറക്കാന്‍ ഏകദേശം 80,000 സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍ ഡോളറോളം മുടക്കേണ്ടി വരും.
